A Notary Public mainly acts as an impartial and legally trained witness to authenticate and certify the execution of documents required or intended for use outside the UK.

A Notary Public is a specially trained and qualified lawyer undertaking work for overseas jurisdictions.

Our Notary Public is the only known Notary in ALTON and in the Alton area.

As one of a few highly experienced practitioners in HAMPSHIRE in the field serving Hampshire, Surrey and beyond the notary will notarise, certify and authenticate many different types of documents – primarily for individuals, companies and other organisations requiring documents for use abroad .

Services we provide include:

  • Witnessing the signature of documents.

  • Authenticating (or confirming the truth of) facts set out in document or certifying copies of originals.

  • Administering oaths and declarations.

  • Assisting with legalisation and consularisation where documents are required to be legalised by an embassy or consulate or by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.



Fees

Notarial fees are by arrangement and are regulated by the Notaries Practice Rules.

Personal Appearance and Proof of Identity:

To ensure that the Notarial process is dealt with smoothly the following formalities should be observed:

  • You will need to present personally at these offices.  In special cases (at an additional fee) a home or other visit can be arranged in advance.

  • Proof of your identity will be required by a passport or full photocard driving licence, plus a council tax demand or recent utility bill.
